The range of the European Fire Bellied Toad, Bombina bombina, like their name suggests, is Europe, mostly central and eastern.
Their color is green, with black splotches, on the dorsal side, with some variation in color, then red or orange mixed with black on there undersides. The underside is a real contrast to the colors on their backs, that lend to them being somewhat camouflaged in their natural habitat.
They are relatively small, with an adult being a little over an inch and a half long.

They are mainly insect eaters.

Oriental Fire Bellied Toads, Bombina orientalis, exist in Japan, China, and Korea.
They are a bright green color on the dorsal side, and the under belly is a orange/red color. This toad is fairly common in the pet trade. These little toads sometimes live over 15 years.
